From Tuesday 30 August until Friday 2 September 2016
Step into Dance
provides a week of training for all teachers working on the programme, as well
as several top up days throughout the year. This training is designed to equip
our teachers with the tools they need to deliver inclusive, engaging and
exciting classes in secondary schools. The training covers all aspects of
teaching in a state secondary school, including practical skills such as
behaviour management as well as creative ways to engage students and how to
structure a year of classes.
The training week is intensive but also a lot of fun and a great way for teachers to build a network of like-minded dance practitioners. The week ends with a mixed style battle which is always a highlight.
Other courses for adults
Step into Dance offers a number of courses throughout the year suitable for dance artists, dance/PE teachers, support workers, SEN professionals, and those who practice dance in an educational setting. The workshops are free to all Step into Dance teachers as part of their continuing professional development.
'The teacher training helped me very much and gave me the chance to meet so many talented people, learn from each one of them, ask questions and find answers. It inspired me to become a better teacher and role model for the students I work with.'
