What's involved?
Step into Dance is a fully funded dance programme led by the Royal Academy of Dance and funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation, designed to provide greater access to dance education to secondary schools across London. Students on the programme will take part in a weekly extra curricular dance class with a Step into Dance teacher who will visit their school.
The only thing that students need to take part in Step into Dance is enthusiasm! It’s fun, free and a great form of exercise. There are no special uniform requirements, but as with any physical activity participants must be safe. Your child’s dance teacher will be able to them in the taster workshops on what to wear to classes.
Students will also have the opportunity to get involved with Step into Dance through this website. They will be able to upload dance clips, post their own notices and view the results of the programme from other schools in their borough as well as those participating across London.
