The Step into Dance programme offers its Freelance Dance Teachers a range of training, networking and creative dance day opportunities throughout the academic year.
This year for the first time we are running a week of training workshops before the start of the Autumn term. These workshops will be primarily practical, focusing on issues that Step into Dance teachers encounter in their teaching work. There will also be sessions led by the Human Resources department focusing on child protection issues and best practice when working with young people.
With over 70 freelancers currently working on the programme, these sessions are a great opportunity for teachers to meet and share their experiences.
We also offer forums focusing on specific areas of dance, which are another way for teachers to meet and discuss ideas and experiences. These forums currently focus on Street Dance, Contemporary and SEN work.
