The Jack Petchey Foundation, established in 1999, offers grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11 – 25 in London and Essex. The Foundation is eager to help young people take advantage of a range of opportunities and to play their part in society. Grants are given through different programmes including, Achievement Award Scheme, Leader Award Scheme, Projects Grants and Sponsorship:

  • The Foundation has given over £30 million.
  • 1200 achievement award programmes are running in schools and youth organisations.
  • The foundation operates in London, Essex and Portugal. As well as the successful Achievement and Leader Awards Scheme the Foundation is also funding other projects including dance, public speaking, young enterprise, overseas adventures and community schemes, out of school hours learning programmes, and the London wide Summer Uni initiative. It has recently joined London Legacy 2020 and allocated £10 million to support programmes related to opportunities created by the Olympics. Examples of a few of their current partners include the Hampstead Theatre Group, The University of East London, The Scout Association and London Youth (the federation of London youth groups).
